Spring, Threats & Farewells • Best 60ish Seconds

In this week's Best 60ish Seconds, Charlie opens on a bright note — welcoming the official arrival of spring, with March Madness in full swing and MLB Opening Night just days away. The best time of year is nearly here.

Charlie then shifts to the ongoing war with Iran, highlighting this week's Senate testimony addressing Iran's potential ICBM capabilities — a prospect Charlie calls something we simply cannot allow to happen.

Charlie next calls out Joe Kent, Trump's former counterterrorism chief, who resigned this week citing opposition to the Iran war. Charlie describes Kent as always having been an isolationist at heart and says Kent's criticism of the Trump administration rings hollow.

Charlie then reflects once more on Lou Holtz, who was laid to rest on March 16 at Notre Dame's Basilica of the Sacred Heart. Charlie invites viewers to take a moment and watch the touching funeral if they haven't already.

Charlie closes with a heartfelt tribute to David Keene, the towering figure of the American conservative movement who passed away on March 9 at age 80 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. As longtime chairman of the American Conservative Union for nearly 30 years and president of the NRA, Keene was the architect who built CPAC into the premier conservative conference it is today — a man of extraordinary intellect who shaped the movement for decades. "On a personal level," Charlie says, "he was a true friend."
